I was learning Arabic and had an native speaker watching over my shoulder the whole time to make sure I was understanding why the answers were what they were. 10× more helpful having a native speaker to fill in those gaps.

I learned hardly anything from DuoLingo, I learned more from being directly spoken to daily by natives- but not in the normal way lol most people can just jump in and learn, I need it drip fed to me.
