If it tends to happen right before and right after sleep it sounds less like schizophrenia and more like something up with your sleep itself. In a nut shell: sometimes our brains dream right outside of sleep, but they aren't classified as dreams as we're awake and aware, so they are classified as hallucinations.
If this is an ongoing problem, I'd suggest letting your primary physician know and considering a sleep study to make sure your brain is sleeping correctly. This could be indicative of a bigger sleep issue.
I've been diagnosed with a form of light schizophrenia and I'm waiting for a narcolepsy evaluation but have experienced insomnia my whole life.
