Can someone enlighten me on why it's so essential to have a gadget ASAP? I mean does it perform better if you get it on day one or something?

I get that there are hardcore tech enthusiasts and even those whose job is to wait in line for others, but what about the rest? Are upgrades genuinely THAT important for them? I've seen folks waiting for hours in rain, cold, or scorching sun, only to find out the item is sold out! And let's be real, they probably knew this could happen.

Why not just wait a couple of weeks post-release or pre-order online? It's not even comparable to waiting in lines at Disneyland or nightclubs.

Idk, maybe it's just me... Anyone else got thoughts on this?
