Reddit ban nonsense

So I been banned from Reddit for a personal view and speaking out against their api changes. I been permanently banned and everytime I make a new account it gets banned after a few hours even with a new email is there anyway I can get unbanned?"

They use device ID (primarily MAC address. AFAIK) bans rather than IP bans. I know this for 2 reasons:

  • My wife hasn't been banned despite using the same wifi.

  • If I create a new account and use reddit on my phone it will get banned within hours, but I have am account I only use on my laptop that's just fine.

If you really want to go back you can use a different device or do something to spoof your MAC address. That said, fuck em.

Using your other phone should work. I haven't really looked up methods of spoofing MAC addresses on phones, but I'm sure it's fairly easy.

You could also use a VPN to hide your "digital identity", but that tends to slow your connection speed
