Is it okay to perform only one religions ceremonies at a secular parliament inauguration?

The separation of church and state was one of the key outcomes of the French revolution. Yet 400 years later. The "world's largest secular democracy" took a symbol from history and wrapped religion around it like it was nobody's business.

Then to top it off, why are these sadhus doing a religious ceremony at a secular inauguration? If a Muslim PM did this with 30 mullas there would be outright protests.

Religion is set in stone. It is unquestioned faith in unproven concepts. It is scary to run a country through the lense of religion because then you lose the power to question authority.

I don't think religion is the same as rituals. Plus the ritual means a lot to millions.
