Found out the hard way why people buy Teslas instead of random EV's

Just had a go at trying to charge my rental Mach-E for 20 minutes unsuccessfully at an EVGo charger. I ended up leaving to go to another charge location out of sheer frustration. Even with my colleague's help, we couldn't make it function.

The location had one stall that was non-operational and another with a malfunctioning payment terminal (out of four total stalls). As I stumbled over the unwieldy Ul, my first attempt was to pay via credit card on the post, but it wouldn't cooperate.

My next step was to register for the app, but I encountered errors, and it took over 5 minutes to get past the signup process. I then tried to set up Autocharge as EVGo tends to steer you towards that when you initially sign up.

After several minutes of trying, I couldn't successfully scan the VIN.

My last attempt was to add a payment method to the app to get the charger to work for my current session – still, no success. I couldn't get past the signup process as EVGo wouldn't validate my phone number to allow me to complete the account creation.

Non-Tesla EVs will gain tremendously from the transition to the North American Charging Standard and access to Superchargers. Which is probably why it'll never happen cause WHY WOULD Tesla want anyone to buy any other brand. It's the lightning cable crap all over again.
