How do you feel about audiobooks?

I don't get much time to read anymore, and never found anything I liked reading in the first place. Sometimes I'll listen to an audiobook in my car, but is it a replacement for reading?

I got a few free ones on audible this one time. Too bad I forgot to ever play them and now I can barely recall what they were called :/

Honestly they all make me fall asleep, then again so does reading in general to me lol.

Audiobooks are great as long as you're listening and enjoying the book.

I personally prefer dedicating an hour of my day where I can sit in a cozy corner of my room and just read a chapter or two. No hate for audiobooks though!

Reading takes practice, and with enough of it you can read much faster than you could listen to an audiobook.

As an EFL (English as a Foreign language) teacher with a learning disability I'd argue that as long as your brain is working and you feel like you've benefited in some way, then yes, audio books are as good as reading. Audiobooks actually can be more beneficial than reading for some people too, like if they have a learning disability or are functionally/illerate then at least they are still reaping most of the same benefits.
