The way I see it, Tesla is trying to slowly break into the mid-range market. Can't say whether Buffet would invest in Tesla, but Tesla reducing prices and making cars more affordable could increase sales.

Price cuts signal weakening consumer demand but it also strengthens Tesla's market position relative to the competition. Tesla can afford to aggressively cut prices and still have positive margins means this strategy can work long term.

The fact that they have spent years perfecting manufacturing of batteries at scale gives them a significant edge.
