I miss how serious and adult marvel movies used to be before they became a bunch of family friendly comedies with some shitty jokes in between

Way back in the day, Marvel sold the rights to X-men, Spidey, Hulk, and other characters to Sony because they were a "comic book company" and didn't make movies, which is why they had to use characters like Iron Man, Cap, and Thor to jumpstart the MCU. Both studios have their pros and cons.

Sony made some banging "standalone" movies like the original Spidey and the first couple X men movies, but there wasn't much of an attempt to create a cohesive universe. Meanwhile, Marvel's MCU was a bit up and down, but the ~20 movies in the first 3 phases delivered an epic overarching story with each film building upon the ones that came before it.

For example, you can watch something like Days of Future Past without having seen the others and still enjoy it, but if you haven't seen most of the previous MCU movies you miss out on a lot of context that makes Endgame so incredible.

Oh, and there was plenty of cheesy humor sprinkled throughout the Sony films (including this one) so I think your entire argument falls kind of flat.
