If I can't moderate effectively with the tools I'm left with, I can't guarantee that all content will be SFW at all times

This is great and I'll be supporting it as much as I can. I moderated a few communities on Reddit and that site can burn to the ground with how little they appreciate the people that maintain its value for them.
