The EPD claims these cameras are for theft prevention and public safety, but they also collect massive amounts of data on innocent people — and the long-term implications for our community are deeply troubling.
This is a chance to push back and demand transparency, accountability, and a halt to mass surveillance in Eugene. There is a brief time for public comment starting at 7:57 PM — show up, speak out, and let the Police Commission know that Eugene values privacy and civil rights.
