No, directly searching for a post's link should produce the post, no matter if it's account is already followed. It looks like I used a wrong link or it's not properly implemented.

I don't think they plan to replace the code - I understood it as them wanting to focus on the backend and also not being a UI programmer, leaving that part to the LLMs.

I too federate with .ml, but you don't need to be to get timely updates. That would be a terrible distribution architecture.
