They’re tasked with infinitely growing their stock price. That is a suicide job. Working big tech in the USA sucks right now because there’s no concept of just maintaining and maintaining something well, unless you’re Valve and steam

Lots of sensitive susans in the comments. If you don't like it block it and move on. There's too many people on lemmy that want to dictate what everyone can and can't see rather than moderating what they themselves see.

I've tried so many different social media platforms and every single one has been an echo chamber for their little slice of hell.
Lemmy just happens to be FOSS tech and liberal stuff. They're all echo chambers for sure.

Bankruptcy is lifesaving

How has bankruptcy affected you when you've gone to apply for things? Has there been any real long term effects when you apply for like a house or car loan?

This is my first time hearing stakeholder primacy as a term. Can you elaborate on what the grounds you’d sue the stakeholders on? Ie what is the legal premise that you’re proposing you can hold them accountable for?

How to get a private car
When you go just ask if there's cars or models without the car itself having a SIM card but that still has carplay. People love to drum this stuff up but they still make dumb cars. There's usually like 3 variations maybe 4 of each model. Go lower on the model to get less features but still the right amount of them.

If I am reading this correctly, men drifting towards conservative and women drifting towards liberal?
That would reflect the culture found in apps - I feel like men with andrew tate and things like truth social/rumble/kick and women drift more towards stuff like reddit/tiktok/instagram where you can usually see a lot more liberal idealogy.

If you have a Chromebook and that's what you need sounds like the ticket! Glad you enjoy it.
When I was in highschool I could only afford a Chromebook and I chrooted mine, which meant putting Linux on it. I believe that's changed in years past though.

I agree with this and I’m glad we have graphene OS at the same time for the moments when I no longer want this to be the default option.
I hope to see more reasonable takes like this - weighted with reality, not just reinforcing what people want to hear.

Wipe until clean, spray your anus with water, just get the job done and shower often.

If that's happening to you that's crazy. GitHub is way too noisy though. I get 30 notifications on that apps notification widget though for just bullshit I didn't even know I signed up for or snyk or some other garbage.

Linux tablet?
Reply in thread
I had reasoning for the steam deck when I wrote that but I'm struggling to recall why. There was some niche with Linux for it since it has good support for Linux applications but I can't remember how I thought it would fit
Anyhow nook and especially kobo are solid.

Linux tablet?
Can I be ridiculous here and say that a nook e-reader or kobo e-reader, and a steamdeck would suffice?
Maybe just a kobo?
I know it's not Linux and that's what you asked for, but at the end of 2022 when I looked into this I had a hard time finding Linux tablet with a good UX.

And I think these parts are fair to say but they lose me within the first few minutes by jumping to disassociated bold points like the cloud to windows being proprietary.
We need well reasoned arguments that are cohesive and the moment you lose that, you basically damage your own cause.
Again though it's a discussion. I'm just saying that it's disappointing and quickly frustrating that this is how things get framed: with facts and arguments that are leading. Don't show your hand. Let people arrive at these things as a logical conclusion based on a pile of evidence.
