With article preview enabled, if you want to preview an article thumbnail from the feed, you have to tap into the post and then use the preview gesture there. Perhaps the article preview function can be activated with the title instead? This would also make the preview gesture more consistent across post types with a thumbnail.
Personally, every now and then I have to tap into a post and I'm used doing it from the feed. Of course, if changed, people used to the current flow may be annoyed and prefer the thumbnail. I'm guessing people that prefer card view would prefer the image activation as well.
Describe the issue:
Whenever I tap on the thumbnail for this post, it takes about 3 for the image to fully render and not be blurry. It seems like the image is not loading from cache and is redownloaded each time I tap on the thumbnail because it then takes another 3 seconds to render. The cache shows the image is less than a MB so I don't think it's the local webp conversion that's taking 3s. I think slrpnk.net has some server issues at the moment as it's not a noticeable issue with images hosted on other instances. But it may highlight a different Connect issue.
EDIT: And of course, right after the post, it's not doing the rendering issue anymore. I'll try to find another example and figure put the conditions for this.
EDIT2: Um, edits are not being reflected again? I made an edit and submitted it but after that was done, the post did not update with the edit in it. Had to manually refresh to see the update.
EDIT3: Okay, so if that first post does not exhibit the issue, any posts from a community on slrpnk.net, such as their meme one, can provide another sample. But it may depend on where you are and when you try this; maybe your proximity is no affected or the instance has resolved the issue by then.

I think the article preview would be more useful, at least to me, if it was inline with the comment preview and remained on-screen with a long tap. Reading and scrolling while having to hold the long tap is cumbersome. Granted, it's a preview feature, but I think it's a worthwhile feature to be able to easily read an article straight from a feed and then go back to the feed. Which is why I also like the comment preview.
For those reading and wondering about the mentioned features, it was introduced in v1.471, which is a beta so you would need to join that to use it.
EDIT:Not sure why but this post only shows a sliver of the article for the preview. Loads fine in reader mode and other article previews seem to load up the full article.
The Open option for comments seem to always open using the internal browser but I have it set to the external browser.
When viewing a post with crossposts and changing the sort method, it's only applied to the top post and not the crossposts.
Saved comments don't have an overflow menu. And for me, I can't assign them to a folder because long-tapping on the comment, what I'd normally use to show the context menu, will load up the post for the comment.
Saved folders and its content can be deleted with a selection without confirmation. On a mobile app, I think a confirmation for this option would be useful as a mistap can delete a number of bookmarks.
I notice upvoted(probably down as well) comments don't seem to update the vote count until the app is reopened. So you could upvote a comment, come back hours later, see the comments and updated vote count on other comments but see the same vote count on the interacted one.
An error message comes up when viewing a Piefed inbox message. At least for read messages for post reply.

I noticed an account had a note with an asterisk on it. The note applies to this account as well so I thought if I edited the note and saved it with the same thing that it would get rid of the asterisk for that account. It did not.
I think in this situation, it should make a new note for that account; while leaving the asterisk on other accounts from other instances; so there would be two accounts from two instances with the note and asterisks for the rest.
Describe the issue:
I was viewing All and went into a post and noticed all the comments had a Show comment button on all of them. Each also mentioned it was due to a block on the corresponding commenter's instance but that's not true in this case; it's due to the instance of the community that was blocked. I have the option to block comments turned off so even if I block the instances, the comments should be unhidden. So there's two issues with this one.
EDIT:Screenshot of the post on All; it's the bookmarked one. To clarify, I don't block blahaj.zone because I'm a bigot, you can go through my voting history and see I'm clearly left-wing. I just don't relate to a chunk of the posts and comms so it's blocked.
Anyways, if I had to guess I think the issue is sometimes the app shows you a cached All page that seems to ignore the instance blocks. Leaving the app open for at least an hour and then coning back to it may also be related to the cause of this; if the block seems to be adhered to at a glance.

I was just thinking it might be nice to see what your top 10 upvoted and downvoted accounts are. I think people have a general idea of their top 5 but I think some may be surprised when they see the actual list. Even Voyager doesn't have this.
The idea of keeping history of your vote count for each user has garnered interest and conversation and I think being able to see your top 10 list may yield some as well. Or is it just me?
After tapping on a shared(comment link) MultiCommunity, the post list will try to load but ultimately be empty. Then if you add the MC, it gets the name down but no communities were added to the MC.
Many crossposts are not picked up by the app. Seeing a crosspost is rare and many that I've checked on mobile are not identified by Connect.
Piefed
Edit/Add note selection from the overflow menu on user pages does nothing. Other methods of editing user notes works fine.
New/newcomer accounts aren't identified.
I don't see any new post markings on feeds nor comment highlighting. Unimplemented?
It seems the only way to have your subscription list updated is to signout and sign back in. So if you subscribe to a community, then you have to signout or add it to favorites as a workaround.
Set user flair has a quick select for post flairs. If you tap on that and then try to save, you get an error, which is to be expected.
There's no option to flair a post on creation or editing.
Un/subscribing to a community from the overflow menus in feeds results in an error that it's not supported but if you view a community, it works fine from the overflow menu or community banner.
Polls support needs to be added?
When you try to add to a MultiCommunity, the popup doesn't load your MC list. As a workaround, I had to enable banner list, create and view the MC on my Lemmy account, switch to Piefed, and then add that way. But for some reason my Piefed MC won't load posts. I can view the communities individually and that works fine.

EDIT 2: Turning off the blur video background setting fixes it.
EDIT 3: This issue matched a previous problem with the video player so I thought it was a bug. It seems the blur setting was introduced in 416 but is still being worked on since the blur effect still needs to be added. In card view, the video gets duplicated and both video is playing.
After updating, I got that error message after opening the app and none of my accounts were on the app. After I logged into this one and restored my settings, everything seems to be okay.
On Piefed, there doesn't seem to be a way to view post reactions on list view.
Sticky posts aren't identified; Lemmy has the pin icon to denote a sticky.
I can't create posts and get an API error 404 every time.
Blocking a community does nothing. Instance blocking gives you an error.
On AMOLED, flair buttons sometimes have black font and a dark button background color that reduces legibility.
Tapping on flairs and hashtags does nothing.
Copy selection gives "Copy Lemmy link"; you could have it detect whether it's a Lemmy or Piefed link, or just change to post/comment permalink.
On my Lemmy account, I see native alerts for Piefed Meta and Piefed Help but nothing on my Piefed account. When I tap on the buttons to go to those communities, I get an error that the community can't be found.

I had favorites on my Piefed account but when I restored my settings, they weren't restored. It's just 2 so a quick fix but my Lemmy account had its favorites restored fine. Seems like a multi-account favorite export issue.
Sometimes when you scrub a video back to the beginning, video playback no longer works for the video. Now you either reopen the app or view another video and then go back to the initial video for playback to work again. For testing, you can keep going back to the beginning on one video but sometimes it just doesn't happen, so you may need to try another video.
Add to Multi selection from the overflow menu of posts in feeds does nothing.
When viewing a post, switching accounts from the overflow menu in the top right will result in an error that the post cannot be found.
When you go to Copy and select Copy Lemmy Link, it gives you the link with the instance of the poster rather than the instance of the community the post was made. I think you run into less issues with the community instance rather than the poster's. If the poster is on a different instance than the community, you're viewing a federated version when visiting the link. Which is an issue I ran into when I copied a link in Connect and then tried to view it on another account in Connect but it didn't load and the app gave me a federation error. For links to comments, maybe it's better using poster's instance but for post links, I think the community instance is better.

Option to make user vote totals global? I'd like to see the totals I see on my Lemmy account carried over when I browse on Piefed.
Perhaps we could get a new option to notify on new activity, which would give alerts for replies to posts; in addition to new post alerts. Or upgrade the current option I guess, I have no preference.
