It works. My NAS is connected through an NFS mount, Jellyfin picks up new files in seconds.

Well believe it or not, I used to do it too, by forwarding it directly to the lan host on port 9. No broadcasting required, just a regular UDP packet. I had a really shitty ISP router.

Would have to try again but I’m almost certain it would work, as long as the computer’s MAC address is still in the router’s ARP table.

::: spoiler Wifi SSID display issue 100% reproducible I think (cosmetic and super niche): WiFi networks names with emojis in them won’t display properly in the command center. I think it’s been like this for 10 years. The emojis are drawn but they are completely gray (you can see the outline and they are filled with a single color). Not adding a screenshot for privacy reasons (but will boot up another network if you need me to), the SSID is in the format « emoji emoji text ».

One I haven’t been perfectly able to pin point: Sometimes while scrolling left or right on the calendar app, events will appear out of place on a subsequent day or week, usually keeping the placement of the previous screen but with the content of the new days. It’s given me a scare once or twice. Things get back to normal if I scroll fully to another day/week and back.

I’ll try to see if I can reproduce this better.

Not sure if this qualifies as a bug but it’s at least a functional regression: the new Preview app won’t allow swiping left or right to other files, when invoked from the Files app. Quite annoying since it requires you to go back to the folder, remember which file you tapped, select the next one…

Quick Look still works, but you can’t select it as a default action, it has to be opened from the contextual menu.

Do better and go the whole way, actually set up your domain on a provider and avoid forwarding anything. That way if anything ever goes wrong, it’s just a matter of changing your DNS records.

Mailbox.org (highly recommended) has all the explanations on their website on how to set up all this (SPF, DKIM, DMARC). It’ll work with other providers as well : you’ll have to adapt a bit and stop and think a moment or two, but it’s fairly simple.
