How do you decide when to give up on a book?
I'll give an example. I read the first two sentences of blood meridian and decided not to read it and move on. I just don't have the time to commit unless the book really grabs me.

I've heard this story so many times from people abusing stimulants, meth in particular. I've lost friends and family to it. Every single time it was the result of meth use. Sorry if this is not the case but it's never not been meth in my experience.
