Walnut desk I just finished.

No, it was actually pretty simple and didn't take that long. It looks complex because of the curves but if you draw out a full sized template then it's pretty easy.

Its hard to say because I picked away at it between a couple other projects. Just guessing, maybe 15 hours at the most.

I have been doing it as a hobby for about 20 years or so.

I used to sell stuff but had to many bad experiences with buyers so now I just give stuff away to friends and family. I don't have a spot for this so I'll probably give it away as well.

Paul Sellers Style Winding Sticks
Are you primarily a hand tool woodworker? For the first fifteen years or so I avoided hand tools like the plague. Over the last five years I have been moving more towards hand tools and I find I enjoy woodworking a lot more.

I'll have to give it a try. David J Marks used to have a woodworking TV show that I would watch when I was starting out and he used it for everything.

What are some less-obvious items that you must have in your shop?
If you are focusing on hand tools then I would say the following items are not always thought about, but indispensable once you use them.

Thank you. This was a test for a couple projects I had upcoming. I was going to be adding the maloof joints to a desk and the weaving to a set of stools. After weaving this I decided not to do the stools. It was way more work than I anticipated. I did finish the desk, unfortunately I didn't take any pictures.

Regarding the future of Reddit and /r/woodworking
I don't think the API cost will kill reddit but I think that this is the first of many changes coming to try and boost revenue. I have a feeling that old.reddit is next and then probably a lot more ads. It'll be the culmination of all the changes, each one frustrating different groups of users.

My first dovetail join
That's more impressive than you think! Plywood can be really difficult to dovetail by hand.
