North Carolina parents are charged with involuntary manslaughter after their son, 7, is killed a car accident while walking home, driver that murdered a child gets no charges

@HiddenLayer555 This is a messed up era. When I was a kid from kindergarten and up I walked to school alone. It wasn't a super long distance, about six blocks each way but it was unsupervised, and that was the norm back then. What has happened that it has become so dangerous that kids need to be bussed to school even if they're three blocks from the school?

Control-D gives a hex value of 0x04, where as ENTER or CR gives a hex value of 0x0d,
they are not the same. Control D returns the carriage on old tty machines, on many modern linux platforms it is treated as CRLF, that is carriage return and a linefeed. Control-D indicates end of file or end of transmission.

Linux Kernel 6.12 Has Landed – And It's a Big One

The 6.12 kernel UHD630 graphics worked when not compiled for realtime but just voluntary preemption. So I have filed Bug 219510. I suspect the kernel team will refer me to Intel since they actually maintain this driver, then Intel will say well it worked when the kernel people didn't hack it for real time and it will end up going nowhere but time will tell. Without a working display, I can't really test KVM/QEMU so will have to wait for action on this bug.

Backup on RPi + Nextcloud

Can you do it? Yes. Will the performance suck outright? Yes. Nextcloud is a pig. I run it on an 18-core i9-10980xe server clocked at 4.5 Ghz with 256GB of RAM, with RAIDED nvme disk, and I don't find the performance adequate on this platform.

Phoronix: Several Linux Kernel Driver Maintainers Removed Due To Their Association To Russia

Reply in thread

@theunknownmuncher The US has been involved in probably 300 regime changes throughout the world, has invaded many countries, including those that we were not affiliated with. Russia invades a neighboring country when we install a leader that is going to allow us to put missiles on their border. I really hate to see political hegemony get in the way of a good collaborative effort, we all suffer for it if we allow this.

Please support this! As graphic designers we should be able to use a open source OS.

@nyankas @HiddenLayer555 Unfortunately I have to agree, I find Photoshop hands down much easier and more intuitive to use than Gimp even though I've been using Gimp ever since Adobe went to a subscription only model because I absolutely refuse the Klaus Schwab notion of you will own nothing and be happy, bullshit. I was more than willing to pay for Adobe software when I could buy it but fuck if I will rent it.

What I don't like about brave is it's a rip-off of creators. It does not simply block ads, but replaces ads with it's own, so it profits, the creators get fucked, and in the end you get less quality content as a result, you get fucked. The ethics that went into that make Google look good.
