Oh neat. I feel like it's going to be a good choice as long as people remember to use flairs.

Youtuber PewDiePie is going all in on deGoogling and the Steam Deck is one of the surprising tools that's helping him to 'escape'

I don't see the problem here. Just because you upload stuff on Youtube doesn't mean you need to be tied to every other service. This isn't something like being a vegan where if you wear leather boots, you're not a "true vegan".

Disguising content mill garbage as reviews is just being human? Also theft and also promoting scams and keeping quiet about it. There was also the warranty stuff but that's pretty minor compared to other things.

First world problems
I used to be same but I stopped doing it. I just started going through games as I wanted and stopped following hype trains.

Which is the easiest way to install KDE Connect in my Steam Deck?
I don't even remember installing it. Are you sure it's not part of SteamOS/KDE Plasma?

Flaming Durtles.
That's the old version that's no longer maintained and broke somewhat when kana-only stuff was released. Smouldering Durtles is the new app.

SteamOS 3.6.20 Stable Update

This is probably second or third time they mention it in patch notes despite it not being released on stable yet. Or at least I think it's unreleased. Anyone on stable?

kanji app that isn't just flashcards
Sounds like Wanikani. The first 3 levels are free but later 57 are not. I'd recommend getting the feel for them and then deciding if you are willing to pay for the 1-3+ year journey that's ahead of you since they have the lifetime sale in December.
I'd also recommend learning at least the first 100 常用(じょうよう) kanji on Ringotan (free). You will probably forget how to write them but it will make you understand them better.

It’s official — LCD TVs won’t see any further development.

I have LG C1 that's not connected to the internet and I have not noticed any nagging. Pretty much just switch between HDMI outputs and that's it. Thankfully the input switch and apps are behind a different button unlike Samsung and their overly simple remote. (can even hold number button to switch to a specific source without menus)

First time to hear something positive about them. Only heard that they are a step down from xm3 and 4.

Just don’t try to memorise individual kanji with no context.
This is good advice but I wouldn't learn individual words on their own since learning the words in context should be more effective. Even better if the context sentence is meaningful to the learner somehow.
This also requires work and isn't just an app you can just download.

Steam Controller delivery vent
I don't remember what it was like with the Deck but Index and now Steam Controller both went straight to shops to pick up without option for home delivery. Is this not something that is usually done in your conuntry? I can only wonder why Valve would prefer to leave the packages outside over them being in a safe place if it's available

[@japaneselanguage](https://sopuli.xyz/c/japaneselanguage) On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being great and 1 being horrible, how good is Duolingo for learning Japanese?
Reply in thread
Do you know the kana already? Those should be your priority nr. 1 priority in whatever you do.
Input is also very important. Fastest way is to start using Anki deck(free) or Wanikani(paid) so you'll get past the kanji barrier. Learn grammar from a textbook or alternatively Youtube channels like TokiniAndy and/or CureDolly. If you like games, Game Gengo is an excellent channel as well.
Are you a native English speaker? If not then you might want to pick up a Japanese textbook from your local library as some things are much easier to understand through your native language.

I don't think flashcards are working for me.
Making it a routine is key. 2 week break is huge and will completely mess with your learning. Method that has worked for me is to do them throughout the day. Every time I would do something dumb on my phone, I would first go through few cards (or all if feeling motivated) and sooner or later they're all gone. Are your cards just kanji or words?
For kanji to stick, I've been using Ringotan which is free. It teaches you the stroke order and you can choose the learning order from multiple sources like Wanikani, RTK, Genki, etc.
Downside of my study method is that I do it for 1-5h/day and only after 3 years it feels like I've cracked the code and can actually understand something.
If I started from 0, I would probably start by watching all the Comprehensible Input content there is. Like from https://cijapanese.com/ (also on Youtube, but I feel like the website is better). This also takes time though.

Does anyone know of any good reads? Blogs/websites etc (Around N2-N1 Level)
Are books out of the question? I feel like those would be the thing to read when you want to read. What kind of stuff are you interested in?

[Steam controller] Anyone hear back after the May 8th reservation blitz?
I was there pressing the button when reservations started. Got the email on May 15th and it was shipped on 18th. It's arriving today and I'm quite certain that it's in a pile of other packages in a store near me.
Edit. This edit was typed with the "New! Steam Controller".

To anyone who thinks music piracy is dead
It's a service problem as always. I want to listen to all the songs in my library on shuffle and if your service can't offer that, I'll use AIMP with local files.
