Apple forgot to disable production source maps on the App Store web app

depends.
if we're talking about a personal website nobody will care. if you are a multibillion company and there's the risk that literally anyone can create a 1:1 clone of your services... yeah that's a bit of a trouble

RAM is so expensive that stores are selling it at market prices
Reply in thread
because we're in an era where there always will be a gold rush for a specific component. upgrades have slowed down considerably in the past 10 years, my laptop is 4 years old and still kicks like the first day, I still game on my 8 year old laptop which is permanently attached to the TV and running as a steam machine with more than decent performance.
this wasn't even thinkable in the 00's
I'm pretty sure after hard disks, GPUs, rams the next shortage is either Arm CPUs or a specific future type of PSUs

we share the same superpower.
point it however, that is the nature of open source projects, just up to yourself willing to sacrifice time and hardware to test and integrate on your device.

no it doesn't, and I am very aware that if anything runs on someone's computer then it can get replicated. but it gets slightly harder, also to reverse-engineer it or find potential fallacies. as well as source maps on prod are just a waste of bandwidth

I dumped Windows 11 for Linux, and you should too
Reply in thread
I do feel what you're trying to convey and I completely understand since linux is my daily driver but I always had a dual boot setup for the occasional windows thing.
But my here's my 2 eurocents: if companies like Adobe (or Valve or whatever) had the grace to build their tools/utils/games for Linux the adoption would be far more widespread.
And the joke is, they would not invest time to build stuff for Linux because the Linux adoption is quite low compared to other platform. Linux does not have sub-par performance, it's just the software, for example all Stadia games were native games running on a custom Debian, with amazing performance and high FPS via streaming. Unthinkable to achieve the same with a Windows or a Mac OS

As most of our tech.
Being someone that yield to my tech stuff as long as possible I really love to live in a world where a company is forced to opensource everything related to a specific product if they opt to stop maintaining it.
