People who had accounts on lemmynsfw can login and delete their content if they want. The site will just not get new posts

I definitely think you are misinterpreting the community. It's not my favorite community on the site but it doesn't break any rules, everyone posted id 18+ and it a post is even remotely questionable it's removed.

I plan to set up the accounts related to the site to be accessible by other admins, I'll probably host a password manager on the site's server, or maybe just create an account one of the popular ones, with relevant credentials in it. That way if something happens and I disappear they can just login and take over. That's part of why I'm actively recruiting admins.

As far as cost goes FOR NOW I can fully afford the cost of the server without donations, as far as I can tell at least. Currently the donations are just set to go into my personal account, but I would love to get to the point where we can set something up like or maybe joining the fedihosting foundation and have a pool of donations accessible without me.

Unfortunately no, because the site is down there's now way to retrieve any data, but you can still view those posts if you create an account on lemmy.world and search your username, then at least you could save the photos and repost them if you like

Edit: it looks like images uploaded directly to the site are broken so your photos just have thumbnails :(

If you were a mod of a community on lemmynsfw, you can import a backup from lemmynsfw into fedinsfw, then if you go to the @lemmynsfw community, in the sidebar there is an option you can choose in order to transfer the community here with all existing posts. I have to approve it and then you'll have that community here!

If you weren't a mod or you were but you don't care to transfer the posts, if a community existed there and doesn't exist here, you can just create a community you want.

If you weren't a mod of a community, and you see that a community you want to create doesn't exist here but did on lemmynsfw, and you want to transfer it and become mod, message me, I think I have the ability to transfer any community.

the owner and main admin of lemmy nsfw hasn't responded to messages in over 6 months at this point, he stopped paying for things seemingly, and the site just went down one day. I didn't have backups, or access to the vps/server it was hosted on, so I started this instance.

I'll add some, others will add some, if you want to see it,create it or ask someone else to who you know would maintain it
