Xteink X4 - miniature e-reader, 2025
Reply in thread
+1 for crosspoint reader! i personally use crossink (crosspoint fork), but the point is that you can tinker around with the firmware no problem, and was in fact one of the main reasons why i decided to buy this. i'm not a frequent reader, but the x4 has really allowed me to fit in short bits of reading here and there where a full-sized e-reader would be cumbersome. not to sound like a shill, but i'm quite happy with it

according to wikipedia, it's apparently a combo of two previous lines, coast daylight, and starlight. but to your point, i suppose the name is still technically correct

thanks for the quick review. i shoot with an om-5 and use the dials for all of my aperture adjustments anyway, so it sounds like that would be a non-issue. i don't have a dji drone though... hopefully the bug is addressed on newer units if i ever pull the trigger on getting one.

nice set of walkabout photos! the williamsburg bridge one is especially lovely. also like the variety of architecture texture captured up close, even if those buildings all "look like a box" at a distance. thanks for sharing!

love this, very serene. even though there's still plenty of light, does it still get very quiet at this point in the night?

hey, i was there earlier this year! they've got a neat photography section on the top floor near the rare book room. cool place, really embodies the vibes of portland as a whole even if it's half full of poser tourists such as myself

seattle to ohio is quite the trip. i've only ever taken the empire builder from minneapolis to seattle once in my life as a kid and it's for sure completely uneventful for a majority of it. still, wouldn't mind doing it again at least once to relive the nostalgia...
maybe one day we'll get good trains in the states. one can dream.

lovely view! makes me want to go outside, even if the local trails offer nothing in comparison lol.

i'm down in long beach ca, so these have been here a while afaik. i don't partake myself though, so i haven't paid a lot of attention to them, but they certainly are popular. maybe it's just the new ones vying for attention that are a bit garish?
