Can anyone help me decipher the circles on the cat's paws in this pattern?

I am stumped! They aren't listed in the pattern as French knots, and they don't appear to be 1/4 or 1/2 stitches like elsewhere in the pattern, they are just sort of... there.

It's a free pattern from DMC, so I am suprised that it's so ambiguous. The DMC patterns have been pretty good so far...

It's this pattern if you'd like to see the whole thing: https://www.dmc.com/AU/en-GB/products/cross-stitch-cat-chistmas-baubles

Edit: After staring at the pattern for a while, one thing I noticed is under the French knots, it lists the black for the eyes, and another colour E5200... looking at the pattern I cannot see a single spot where the E5200 French knot is used... Do you think there is a mistake in the pattern, and the E5200 is meant to be the pink circles for the paws?

[FO] A wedding gift for our friends

As an aside, I have come up with a way of framing my finished cross stitch projects that I really like and thought I would share here:

I wash the piece and rinse well, then leave sandwiched in a clean white towel under a stack of books over night.

The next morning it is very slightly damp, and I gently spray the back of it with spray starch (the kind used for ironing shirts).

Then I iron the back of it, with the front on a clean section of the towel so the stitches aren't flattened, then leave it to dry uncovered for a few hours.

Then I flip it over, and armed with a toothpick and a few q-tips I spray some starch in a little cup and using a q-tip I dab any stitches like lettering or back stitches or French knots to wet them with starch and use the tooth pick to carefully align them.

While that dries, I get a piece of card stock and spray it with craft spray adhesive, there are many brands, but it's important that it's acid free and that the can reads that you can either spray and put together immediately for a permanent bond, or spray and let dry to use as a temporary positioning adhesive.

This is what I want, I spray a thin layer, let it dry, and it has the feel of... A sticky note adhesive. It holds the cross stitch so it cannot sag in the frame, but is completely temporary. I carefully place the cross stitch on the board and use a clean q-tip to press around the letters and design til I'm happy and pop it in a frame.

I've done quite a few like this over the years and so far nothing has gone awry. If anything does I'm confident it's reversible. 😊

Receiving lots of errors while browsing. Firefox on Win10 pc.

Using Firefox on Win10 pc, the usual add ons. Errors when upvoting, when accessing posts from inbox, when expanding comment trees.

Errors repeatable until page loads either by refreshing or pressing back. Once the page has loaded without an error everything seems to work fine, up and down votes, expanding comment trees, etc all work even after navigating away from post and returning.

Happy to provide any other information that helps diagnose things.

Thank you. I really like wefwef!

YSK you can use Imagus or any hover to zoom addon to quickly view images and gifs on your Lemmy front page

Why YSK: It makes viewing images fast and easy, with no clicks.

I got used to this on the site that shall not be named, sometimes I don't want to open the whole image or post. With the addon if I hover over the image button that would expand the image, it will show the image full size for as long as I hover over it, no clicking needed, this works with gifs as well.
