is it really that more expensive? because unlike a console the steammachine doesnt require a subscription to play online. PS5+ is 150€ yearly just for that. granted, you get a game per month but the games you get are often games you wouldnt buy anyways. so with the current price of 900€ for a 2tb ps pro youll pay 900€. after 3 years the steam machine is cheaper.

its also cool if you have an unused gpu and a pcie-slot left since you can use that to run the frame generation instead of the main gpu.

frame gen always creates a little overhead that reduces the max frames a gpu cam natively render. you can offload this overhead to second gpu and may get a better result if the main gpu already struggles to get the required frames.

a friend of mine used that to be able to run monster hunter wilds with an acceptable framerate.

i mean it still sucks compared to reselling, but its possible to share your library on steam with friends at least.

best store would be gog but as a gamer on linux its not as easy as it should be.

i love to read and not get distracted by something during that. a regular phone keeps getting me distracted and a e-ink display is way more pleasant to read than a regular screen imo. the main problem i keep running into is that my regular ereader is too big for most pockets which is the reason i dont have it with me most of the time.

soooo such a small reader would let me read at times and places where i would simply dont do anything at best or doomscroll at worst while i could also judt read a good book.

that being said i dont own such a small ereader and wont buy one because keeping two devices synced while reading a book would be either too much hazzle or simply impossible to do.

i think most electric cars with long range options swapped to rwd, because its more efficient than fwd. volvo, polestar, volkswagen, bmw,… they all offer awd or rwd.

Gnome Vanilla is really not that good. But with Extensions and Gnome Tweaks its usable.

Gnome Tweaks enables the minimize button and Extensions enable pretty much everything one could ask for.

I prefer the simplified UI of Gnome to the thousands of options that KDE offers out of the box. But KDE is a really good DE and i used it without problems over a year.

Metabo is a german brand that offers good quality for a fair price. they also offer great warranty and support. we damaged our cordless drill twice and they repaired it both times for free under warranty even if it wasnt really their fault. ive got arround 7 cordless tools from them and every single one of them works great.

while. i agree that steam isnt good its still the best digital store out there besides gog. also its hardware doesnt force u to buy games over there and thats a major selling point imo.

im driving a ev for 2 years now and not even once used an app to pay. also i havent searched once for a charging station manually. (but that means that the car has internet access wich opens another can of worms. i really dislike that part since the car uses google services for that functionality and wish car manufacturers would allow alternative software for the infotainment system)

disagree. while KDE has a Tablet mode it still depends on the device. Gnome with a few Extensions is far superior as a tablet imo. „TouchUp“ and „Gjs OSK“ are needed. With those installed, gnome will feel like a tablet and be easier to navigate than KDE. Especially if you want to switch on the fly between touch navigation and mouse/keyboard
