I would rather see people use Firefox than Vivaldi. We need a more diverse browser engine market to keep the web open. More here: https://better-tech.eu/web/article/switch-browsers/

It says not to chill it - I prefer cold chocolate

I tried, and they don't actually come to take it away if you ignore that and chill it anyway. :)

You make a great argument for boycotting Sony. If enough people in Europe stop buying their products, that equation will flip and Sony will change course.

It's absolutely not a simple thing, but if we let the web turn into Chrome-only then Ladybird doesn't stand a chance. For now, more market share for Firefox and Firefox-based browsers is the only argument against making websites only work in Chrome.

I added the apps to https://better-tech.eu/search/article/maps/ to help spread the word.

I cleaned it up. I removed a lot of unused content and also all the translations. I made the map smaller so everything fits inside the stars, and removed Belarus. What is left is pretty straightforward and readable: https://better-tech.eu/content/logos/buyeuropean.svg

If you want to support European search you are better off either using Mojeek (they have their own index) or Qwant/Ecosia (who are building their own engine).

That is exactly why I made this page. If you want more details you can follow the links and dive into things, but if you don't then the options on this page are much better than doing nothing.

Red packaging (as shown here) is milk chocolate, blue packaging is dark chocolate. There are other variants too.

Please rename the ‘plugin’ section to ‘extensions’ :)

Done.

I would suggest adding uBlock Origin

Done.

I would love to see Organic Maps linked

Done.

With the Linux distro recommendations, you opened a can of worms

I sure did. I will keep your suggestions in mind, but I'm not changing anything right now. I'm in the middle of other stuff, not a lot of time to test these distro's.

Thanks for all the feedback!

It's pretty simple to try Ubuntu without making any changes to your computer: https://better-tech.eu/infra/article/trying-ubuntu/

As long as it isn't US chocolate.

Firefox

I explained that here: https://better-tech.eu/web/article/switch-browsers/ In short, this is the only thing where I believe keeping the web open by using Firefox is more important than using a "European" browser like Vivaldi. If everyone uses a Chrome-based browser, we will end up in an IE6-like situation where it will be extremely hard to create a 100% European browser and get any traction.

Why Ubuntu only?

There are more options here: https://better-tech.eu/infra/article/operating-systems/

Cloud

Cloud computing is always going to be a technical subject, but this is also the part where I still have to do a lot of work and add a lot of content. Maybe I need to make separate pages for home users and for companies to make the information more accessible.

Btw, Infomaniak is mentioned here: https://better-tech.eu/cloud/article/workspace/

Tweakers is a site for computer people, so there is a lot of technical knowledge. "Normies" are probably better off starting at https://better-tech.eu/tldr/ (my site).

I see what you mean. Is is better now?

I made a lot of changes to the original. This is my version:

Lindt is best when made in Switzerland. They also have factories in other countries, but it's not the same.

Thanks, that helped me fix it.

(Chrome doesn't support writing text along a circle, so I had to make a circle with a path-element. I learned way too much about svg in the past hour.)

Also the links that are :visited are dark purple and not very visible anymore. Consider a brighter colour

I don't see what you are seeing. On which page and with which browser?

Sorry, done.
