don't blame electron for how bad discord performs, just open it up in your browser and watch as the discord tab uses 1gb of ram after 5 minutes of usage. discord simply doesn't care about performance or resource usage

What does 196 mean?
Reply in thread
Both the original 195 and the new 196 share a rule
"You must post before you leave"
Comment on
If reddit forces r/196 to open, what do you think will happen?
mods are forcefully replaced with tankies/homophobes/trolls and it all goes to shit

What is the BANNED tag?
BANNED means a user's account was banned from their instance and can't be used at all, as banned accounts aren't deleted. There's also BANNED FROM COMMUNITY which is self explanatory

stop asking for a karma system
Reply in thread
some third party clients sum up the upvote count of your posts to make a count turns out the lemmy api does send it to you
but lemmy itself will never get a proper karma system in the ui as has been said by the main people working behind it multiple times
