A review of Tecmo Bowl and Tecmo Super Bowl, two sports games from the late 80s/early 90s that still have a following.

This is the first time I've used a Lettera 22, and I can see what the hype is all about. It is a true pleasure to type with this machine. This one is even better than I expected, since it has a Spanish keyboard with n-tildes, accents, and umlauts. The cent/@ key is used for semicolon/colon, so I won't be writing any email addresses with this Lettera.

The serial number is 158503.

If anyone has a catalog of Olivetti typewriters they could share, I am curious about their name for this chrome/silver finish.

I try to test my epub files on a different devices. I have a Sony PRS-300 to see how the files look on older ereaders.

I've tried a few different settings, but I can't get paragraphs to justify. Paragraphs are always rendered as ragged-right. When I test my epub files in Calibre, or on a Kindle Paperwhite 10, the paragraphs are justified.

I am justifying my paragraphs with inline styles:

Inline styles seem to be a little more backwards-compatible with older devices.

All the ebooks that came with my PRS-300 also have ragged-right paragraphs.

I just wanted to check if I was missing anything. I've seen screenshots online of the older PRS-500 displaying justified paragraphs.

I got ver. 25.06 of Libreboot running on all three of my MacBooks. It was a fairly easy process, though I've kept Libreboot updated on them, and I think flashing Libreboot internally is easier after it's been done once.

I have Trisquel as the OS on all three.

This came up in my feed today. Yu-Gi-Oh cards with a Halloween flavor to them.

I have had zero success getting the new Libreboot updates onto a T60. I followed the updated instructions in the documentation, and (posting my L's here), I have bricked two T60s.

I did very well with the old internal flashing instructions, but I got worried about Leah's warnings about the "top ROM" and the "bottom ROM" and the need to use Bucts.

Has anyone also been having a problem with the T60? I would ask on Reddit but that one got shut down...

I found this Selectric III at a thrift store in my area, and it was in good enough shape that my repair guy could work on it. I think he did an outstanding job. I bought the paper-ruler thing, he replaced a broken platen knob, and I bought a Prestige Elite element to go with it.

I have been told that the dark brown color is very rare for a III.

I’m not sure if I’ll keep this one or sell it, but it’s certainly one of my top thrift store finds. The hum of the motor is so relaxing while I’m writing. The keyboard feels great, and the text is so clean on the page.

I owned a different Selectric III in the past, and I could have sworn it had a different keyboard setup. I absolutely do not remember the keys for 2 and 3 exponents, or the key in the bottom-left for the paragraph symbol.

Am I imagining things? Did the III have different keyboards?

I've installed FreeDOS 1.3 on a Dell Inspiron 1150, A Windows XP-era laptop. This laptop has an Intel Celeron 2.6 GHZ CPU, and it had 256 MB of RAM when I pulled it out of a bin at the landfill.

The laptop will run FreeDOS in safe mode, but it will not run JEMMEX with no EMS, JEMMEX, or JEMM386. It will only run in safe mode or emergency mode. I upgraded the RAM to 256 MB, this made no difference.

For now, I'm able to run most of the DOS games, and I can use Vim, that's all I really care about. I just wanted to ask if this is normal functionality, or if something is not working right.

This article covers a rarely-seen but interesting arcade game: Wyvern F-0 by Taito. This game used a unique graphics system to produce a presudo-3D effect.

Has anyone else heard of this game?

I purchased this last week in Wellington, Colorado. The Model D Executive has an unusual feature for a typewriter: a proportionally-spaced font.

This typewriter still needs a lot of work, I plan to have it professionally serviced soon.

I look forward to using it for writing letters.

The typewriter is HEAVY. When you hit the carriage return and the platen snaps back, it shakes the whole desk.
