Lemmy should have a real frontpage
@ComputerSagtNein One thing that could be made a lot easier on Fedi in general is browsing posts on remote instances. I don't understand why there isn't an easier method than going to the remote instances web page, copy pasting URLs etc. It seems very inconvenient

@LinearArray Deleted Tinder around a week ago.
It used to be really good back in 2012-2014 but not anymore I think.

Indeed. But regardless I think decentralized platforms are the way to go. I wish that we will soon forget about any centralised platform and only use decentralized ones.

@ubergeek77 @pankkake you can comment and make lemmy posts from Mastodon and others. I'm on Friendica for example and made this comment from my Friendica profile.

Enterprise Linux on desktop?

@Pantherina
There is a free subscription for RHEL for individuals.
And I think it's less of an issue nowadays with old packages since we have extra layers such as podman containers over distrobox, flatpak, snap, Nix etc.
Then you can have a solid base OS with less solid layers on top where things are allowed to break but don't mess with the rest of the system. I use Fedora Kinoite as my base for this exact reason.

@ruud i think a good thing to mention would be copying the URL of a post or a comment to fetch and interact with it from your own instance.

And use Reddit to read communities which aren't here
