The Taliban are working to woo tourists to Afghanistan

One must be truly fucking retarded to consider Afghanistan as a travel destination.

As people nowadays lack common fucking sense the Taliban might be successful with their undertaking.

It scares me that young unexperienced people can be directly influenced through social media to fucking believe Afghanistan is a nice place to visit. Even more scary is the fact that there is a high chance that travel advertisments target young western women because they are the main target audience for the "travel lifestyle".

Absolutely horrible.

Putin orders 150,000 conscripts into military service

Reply in thread

That is a true statement. I'm shocked at the lack of resistance against the russian government within the country. This is due to the brainwashing campaign of Putin, which has been going on for more than 20 years in russia. The war will be over more quickly when enough russian men have died on the battle field and the dissatisfaction with the government rises. In this scenario even brainwashed people will revolt.

Does anyone actually like the default GNOME workflow?

I can live in GNOME and only use the defaults. It just takes time to adjust my workflow. What helps me with whatever I'm using or whatever I'm doing (in life), is to not focus on the things "missing" and just make the best of what I have (to work with).

Since two years I'm on KDE but not because I was fed up with GNOME. I just wanted to try something else. Pretty much using stock KDE only that I moved the taskbar to the top of the monitor.

The International 2023 Celebration Update

I find it quite interesting to see, how upset people can be about the new compendium. Valve did exactly what they announced a few months ago: not calling it a battle pass and shifting the focus of the new thing away from cosmetics.

They kept their word pretty much in 2023 and released updates which benefit the whole playerbase. I think that this is the future. Let's hope, that they keep doing good things. And by the way, arcanas and so forth will be released after TI. So the shiny hats will make their return.

Personally I bought the lvl 50 compendium because I do like the rewards (not really the stickers) and the challenges. Furthermore I spend very little on games in general and play Dota since september 2016. As I got a lot of entertainment out of the game for free, I'm more than willing to drop some money on this game I very much enjoy.

Already got the HUD, which looks amazing (the compendium art in general is on f-ing point!). Working towards the voice lines and in the best case scenario I can grind the aegis replica.

10-Year Anniversary Celebration

The event itself isn't a banger but I appreciate the direction of giving away free - in my opinion as a non-whale - great skins. Free arcanas are always nice and the earth shaker skin is also quite nice (which I still need to unlock).

Let's see what the new "battle pass" is gonna look like.

Rediscovering Apex

Reply in thread

Thanks! For now I mainly play Ash, Bloodhound and Loba. Eventually I'll play all of them, as I unlock them in events or with the apex points. Crypto also looks quite intriguing, whom I umlocked recently.

It is crazy. I could say the same thing about Dota 2, that it is being managed like a low budget game.

Dota 2 summer client update

I like the quality of life improvements and also the skins. Dota needs these stricter behaviour rules to not be such a miserable place. One deserves what he tolerates.

Managed to get every skin except Snapfire. "Only" had to buy 17 (13 + 4 extra) chests. Now I have the cool Anti Mage Persona.
