bin or bin??

Reply in thread

The joke is about the bin/ directory on Linux, which contains the binaries of the system (also called executables) which can break the system if you delete it, and also refer to the paper bin where all your trash files go and people tend to delete usually.

Gog games has now become a invite only site

Friendly reminder that you can still access the site via Tor, simply access the official GoG-Games Mastodon account and copy the address where it says 'Tor', now copy the address into the Tor browser and that's it!

Remember that you should not download the file through Tor, you should simply obtain the file address to download it through your regular browser.

Sometimes it takes a long time to connect or gives a connection timed out error, but at least for me it eventually works after a while.

Closing Registrations. Reflecting on viability of continuation of Yiffit

No matter what decision you take, I want to add (as a long-term Yiffit user) that there is no place like Yiffit. It is true that there are hundreds of yiff or furries communities in general and places where I can get yiff, but the instance community does not make it the yiff, its members do it and here I have not found a single negative user, in fact quite the opposite, and regarding lemmy.ml I really don't think anyone cares much, and if so, you can create an account in another instance and that's it.

And I'm sure something can be done to moderate Yiffit better, personally I would have liked to be an admin to help moderating but I never saw that there were open positions, and now I don't have the time to do it... but I wouldn't mind voluntarily donating to Yiffit for example if someone can take that responsibility as it should be done.

This is the first egg-laying amphibian found to feed its babies ‘milk’

Herpetologist Carlos Jared of the Instituto Butantan in São Paulo and his colleagues have been studying these eccentric animals for years. In previous studies, the team noticed that ringed caecilian hatchlings, which live their first two months out of the egg in their mother’s care, spent much of their time around the end of her body near the shared opening of the reproductive, digestive and urinary systems — an anatomical part called the vent. The female would periodically expel a thick fluid from the vent, which the young would enthusiastically feed on.

Something I didn't quite understand after watching the video is in what way the "milk" is expelled or distributed, because maybe it's because of the camera's perspective but from what I saw in the video the babies stayed on top of the tail, not underneath, where I guess the vent is located. Could someone explain if I have misunderstood something?

what lemmy web app do you use and why?

Hey OP, I love you! I never used a Lemmy WebApp because I see no sense in it, but I tried Photon because of some comments in your post and holy fuck I have missed so much! It's incredible that I can even have two accounts at the same time from different instances without changing the URL!
