Now that some believe me, What if a publicized DRS count of >76M actually breaks the math? What if ALL of the "Cede" quarters are actually hiding a massive increase in DRS?

What a sham market we have.

Potempkin market.

You know what, I amend that. It's a sham world. When are we collectively going to band together and pull back the curtain on The Great and Powerful Oz?

Hopefully soon. Glad to be standing shoulder to shoulder with you all here pushing for that reveal. 👊

Should we deactivate downvotes?

I don't think it's a good idea to disable them. I don't want to live in an echo chamber or silence critics. Facing criticism will strengthen worthwhile ideas.

And it would rob the actual users of the instance of the ability to downvote content we don't approve of legitimately.

But I do like that you've been making the voting and vote bombing transparent.

Is there a script or another way to make the voting parties visible to all users rather than just the admin? Or make it so a flood coming from external sources would be visible or filtered in some way?

FUCK TICKETMASTER (Rant)

Absolutely rubbish company that has nearly cornered the market on venues artists and events and made the entire process of engaging with live entertainment worse and worse as time goes on.

The awful practices of Ticketmaster/Livenation are many, including many things others have already listed as well as an increasing phase-out out of cash and other anonymous payment methods throughout the entire process, including at the actual participating venues themselves.

[Discussion] How do you feel about age verification on Porn sites?

Reply in thread

👍 Yep, it's sad. I can protect them along with the help of my family, friends and community. If not, I will admit failure and live with the consequences. But it's up to me to grow up and build skills and learn patience and responsibility, not the job of others.

Parents need to get back to parenting instead of absolving themselves of what they see as a pesky responsibility of raising the children they produce and putting their lives and impressionable minds in the hands of others, then wondering what went wrong 20-some years on and blaming everyone but themselves.

How happy are you with monero.town?

It's been great so far. I hope it continues to grow so it becomes more than a fallback. I think it already has succeeded in that to some extent, but I'm looking forward to more on boarding and interaction to the point where most feel they can leave reddit in the rearview for good.

Thanks for your contributions.

Decentralize and make it all permissionless. These self-proclaimed authorities and standards organizations are nothing but state-controlled gatekeepers holding the internet back from its true potential.

Fifth Circuit says law enforcement doesn’t need warrants to search phones at the border

The general population need to stop recognizing the authority and legitimacy these thugs try to claim for themselves.

I hope we the average people can find ways to put aside all of our petty differences to unite under peaceful opposition to the tyrants and security states and practice civil disobedience by opting out of the liberty and dignity depriving practices like these en mass.

Not that you guys need the reminder, but your work sees all your browser history and you may not even be able to delete it if you wanted to

Same can be said for any browser, any app, any connection while on the employers network IF they wished to monitor it. Even if you were able to delete all local browsing history and used private browsing, your employer would still be able to know every site you visit if they wished.

If you've authenticated with your credentials on the device, IT is able to see IPs visited and DNS queries and has access to all sorts of network tools to track, shape and otherwise manage your activity.

It's best to assume that nothing you do on your employers network, even when logging into their corporate VPN from a personal device, is private.

I'm always shocked by privacy conscious people who do not have complete segregation of work and personal equipment and devices.

GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen is now free to invest the retailer's cash in stocks, Warren Buffett-style

That's fair. It does seem to be part of his ethos and I shouldn't expect a leopard to change its spots. Guess I'm just interested to see more progress.

If it's profitable this quarter, then I'm in favor of the "moving in silence" bit. If it's not profitable I'd prefer more clarity, at least on the plans. If not from him, then from the company or another representative. The crypto/web3 stuff seems to have stalled a bit waiting for more regulatory clarity. But if it's just the calm before the storm of positive moves, then so be it.
