Help Plan Eugene Parks

KLCC article explains:

Eugene Parks and Open Space wants to know how people are using their neighborhood parks and what might make them better.

The survey takes approximately 7-10 minutes. Responses are anonymous.

Upon completing the survey, respondents can leave their email address to be entered in a drawing to win Eugene Parks swag from bit.ly/parkswag.

The article doesn't have a link to the English-language survey. Here's the Spanish-language survey, as well.

Crossposting Among the Eugene Fediverse

Hello /c/Eugene! I'm so happy you exist!

The Fediverse has this awesome ability to allow for "listening" for relevant content via tags. I'm not sure how Lemmy handles it, but on Kbin you can set your magazine (community) to look for certain tags and it will pull in content from the Fediverse that has those tags. Also, if you add tags to your posts, they will possibly get picked up in various places looking for the tags. So please tag your content if you want it to crosspost passively.

Here's a FAQ (for Kbin) that talks a bit about how tags work.

Kbin lets you see content based on a tag, as well:
(https://kbin.social/tag/eugene)[https://kbin.social/tag/eugene]. Just replace "eugene" with the tag you're looking for. It's helpful if you want to see if a tag is used and to discover where it's used.

Please do say if Lemmy has similar resources or instructions.

Parking changes in Eugene

The city of Eugene is seeking community input on changing off-street parking requirements in light of a 2020 emission reduction state mandate, which requires updates to transportation and housing services among all metropolitan areas in Oregon.

Eugene plans to limit off-street parking choices, such as parking lots, with community input in mind.

Has anyone else been losing track of time in the Fediverse?

I've heard other people talk about falling down Reddit holes over the years, but I was never this engaged on Reddit. I posted maybe a handful of times. I'd usually browse r/popular/top set to desktop version in Firefox on mobile without logging in. Here, though, I'm literally losing sleep and hours pass because the energy, the immediateness, the sense of joyous participation are all so intoxicating. Is this how you're experiencing this? I want to know.
