Businesses can discriminate against their customers? Alright then...
This isn't really malicious compliance. This is the very foundation of the point made by the Supreme Court. You should be able to refuse service to anyone for any reason. Anything less than that is the government engaging in violence to force you to work.

Risk of major disruption as UPS strike looms in US
Reply in thread
The USPS would be profitable if they didn't have to beg Congress to raise the price of stamps and weren't forced to fund pension liabilities for people who won't retire for 30 years.

"This is why people on the left are so exasperated with centrists"
Are you suggesting that Macron is a centrist? Because I don't follow.

Stop wasting half the CPU and lots of RAM on a few buttons and some text
Teams would be very offended if it could afford the spare CPU cycles to read your post.

Bitcoin dropped in value, but is still very high and actively traded. It's hardly in the dust bin.

Malicious Compliance getting infested by spambots
This sucks, but malicious compliance has also always been people's head cannon fantasies. There's zero chance that most of this situations went down as claimed. Bearing that in mind and with there being Jo karma to white on Lemmy, does it matter if they're reposts?

Lamborghini has sold its last fully gas-powered supercar

The only real reason for every car on the road not to go hybrid is cost and cost isn't a factor for Lamborghini. Hybrid drivetrains are the perfect answer to the Ice's gross inefficiencies when at idle or lower speeds.

Agreed totally, precedence makes all the difference here. If there's two people had an established history of agreeing to deals via text with one word answers, it's hard to deny.

Anything else to consider when hosting a Lemmy instance in the EU?

I believe this is probably what will happen if this ever becomes a big issue. GDPR was never intended to be navigable for anything except giant proprietary blob tech companies.

"A Boy Named Sue" is the greatest song about accepting your struggles, while also refusing to pass that trauma onto your children.
You should check out the song "Patches" If that's what you're interested in.

What is a good situation to use a tankless water heater?

Our biggest issue is that we have a huge hot water heater that takes up a whole closet. We like to down size. An indoor one would be fine. What are zones?

Inb4 all the people that have to come comment about how they hate In-N-Out because being contrarian is cool.

The original commenters point was to use this as an example for why Universal Basic Income is a good idea and my point is that without capitalism this doesn't work. You couldn't reproduce this to cover the cost of UBI for everyone. It only works because it lives off of a very profitable industry and services a small group of people.

Pixar sources blame Disney+ for 'Elemental' box-office loss
The entire premise for Elemental just felt bleh. With animated movies there really has to be a good hook tk get people interested and after watching two trailers I'm not even sure what the movie was about.
I get the whole fire girl and water boy thing, but are they getting married, going on an adventure, or something else? I have no idea.

Can you prevent opposers from profiting?
I'm not seeing the issue here. It did pass. Politicians aren't normally the type to take a moral high ground in issues. If there's money available for your state, you should take it.
