What races do you want in the new system?

I'm not sure right now the full extent of races will eventually become. I think it will just start out with the races already in the video game, which would be a good and relevant start for the Final Fantasy XIV TTRPG. I want to see stuff like the Qu, the Seeq, and Chocobo as playable races soon afterwards if they aren't already in the game. I wonder if they will implement races such as the Moogle, any beast tribe races that aren't playable, and possibly even Ivalice based races such the Seeq as I think they appeared in Final Fantasy XIV before. Eventually they might expand I don't think they would go as far as making low powered versions of monsters like the Malboro, though there might be something like the Chocobuddy race from pathFinal Fantasy because Chocobos are a marketable part of the Final Fantasy franchise and I think people would be excited to be able to play as one. I don't think the selection will end up being restricted permanently to the playable seven or so races in the video game, and I hope it isn't that limited even at the end of the system's life.

I'm pretty sure they won't add races such as pathFinal Fantasy's Embodied race or the Palico race from Final Fantasy D20 because those aren't owned by Square Enix, and they would need to seek out permission to add to their systems.

Have you heard of/played unofficial Final Fantasy TTRPG systems before the announcement?

I have heard of both pathFinal Fantasy and Final Fantasy D20 beforehand. I expect both to lose some popularity as the first official Final Fantasy TTRPG system gets released. Final Fantasy D20 has fallen out of favor for me due to more interesting character options in pathFinal Fantasy and controversies related to FFD20, after discovering the latter on GameFAQs.

WOTC's live Planescape trademark registration is misspelled as "PLANE SCAPE"

I found no live trademark registrations when I search for "Planescape" trademarks on Justia's search and the USPTO search. So it was confusing to see artwork that shows a registered trademark symbol on the new Planescape book. But yesterday I found a website that claimed there was a "PLANESCAPE" trademark.

Apparently WOTC does have a live registered trademark for Planescape - except the registration's word mark is misspelled as "PLANE SCAPE" for some reason. (Word marks are supposed to be inputted as all capitals, I believe, when being registered as a trademark. The error is in the word mark's space when the logo and official marketing material spell Planescape as only one word with no spaces.)

So for anyone finding no live trademark registration results for "Planescape" (thus believing that book shouldn't have a registered trademark symbol on it), this must be why. Maybe you should contact their lawyer team and tell them that the word mark in the registration is misspelled.

Of course, I'm not a lawyer, so don't contact me about stuff like this. This was just an accidental discovery.
