What defines dark fantasy?
Is it just elves that wear black or is there more to it? Maybe a mood or setting? Maybe it's an antihero thing? Im curious as to what it means and what some of the defining/seminal works of dark fantasy might be.

Came across this really fun Chen Qian story that was the detective(s) looking for an android plot. The writing (and translation) makes the story really engaging and quippy with simple but satisfying world building.
I feel this follows a long line of similar story telling stemming from Asimov. I wonder how many great examples of stories like these are buried in all those old stacks of F&SF and Asimov mags out there.
