Pentagon warns of disruptions as Army, Marines both lack confirmed leaders for first time

One of my senators (Senator Tubberville) is attempting to force his religious beliefs onto the military. Specifically he seems to have a problem with the military supporting family planning. To do that he has been holding up confirmations of military officers. As a result of his actions, we have lost out on a new military base, our nation’s national security has been put at risk and he has made Alabama an even bigger laughingstock than it already was.
As you may have guessed, I am not a fan of his.

What we’ve lost: The MySpace war files and the impact of a digital 'Dark Age'
I'll be honest, I had forgotten MySpace was a thing back then. Every single page I went to was gaudy as hell and took forever to load on my dial up connection at the time. I'm a little surprised they're still around. And damn, it looks a lot different!

Houston school district to turn libraries into disciplinary centers
Dear Fucking God!
The Guardian is a generally reputable source but I swear this reads like an Onion piece. If true, then the Republican’s there are truly trying to create an uneducated and uninvolved electorate. Jeez, I am glad I don’t live in Texas. Granted, Alabama isn’t much better, but still.

3rd man gets prison time for trying to smuggle people from Canada into North Dakota
What gets me is, why come into America? They had already reached Canada. Canadians seem alot more chill then us. Or does Canada have less tolerance for illegal immigration than the US?

How do you find relevant technical information online?
I used to start with searching Reddit, though that has been of less help lately. Wikipedia is helpful for getting a baseline if I have no clue about a subject. Lately ChatGPT has been helpful there as well.
And then of course, all search engines still accept boolean searches but you kinda need to 1) know the syntax the engine uses and 2) have a rough idea of what you are looking for.

Sorry, no Google documentation was relevant.

That’s what I thought. I’m trying to wrap my head around why someone who had already illegally entered Canada would then try to get into the the US. The only answer that seems to make any sense is if they were trying to link up with family already in the States.

I'll be damned... Did not know that existed. I've never used the Windows store and it still found updates for most of what I have installed.

It’s a nationwide company, mostly doing less then truckload hauls. Mostly saw them around bigger cities. Teamsters outfit, like most of the LTL companies. When I first started in the trucking industry it was called YRC, I think.
