You have no rights!

And none of them even think to consider that dev could just easily decide to TAKE THE WHOLE SITE DOWN FOREVER because of ungrateful spoilt kids who want everything, for free, in perfect condition, right now, and don't stop bitching about it.

So thank you for this post.🌈✌️

[dev] New text model is still quite bad sorry - working on it

Thanks dev! There are actually two questions many of us have,

  1. The already mentioned context window (this was the one thing we hoped most for) and
  2. Which model did you choose (so we can look for workarounds easier)?

Thanks for all your hard work! I really noticed the text gen getting better little by little. Besides the hyperfixations and repetitions you mentioned there is also the on-off problem of following the prompt and writing instructions, other than this I've noticed only minor quirks (ignorable for me as the other problems are more important).

I'm done with this sh*t!

Second this. There's already a post on reddit from someone who tried (and only locally!). OP, tell us when you're done! Let's see how long it takes YOU to get a perfect working ai with no bugs or quirks. (Spoiler: It won't happen, ever, because every model has quirks and phrases it often falls back on.)

My experience with the New text model (feedback)

Reply in thread

Exactly. And as for the model atm, it's tweaked very close to the old model (or maybe dev even put the old model back into place while working on the new one, idk). I just hope we get something different in the end, bc personally, working with the old model feels exhausting for my rp.

But I know dev is cooking right now, bc my rp suddenly got very sexual out of the blue 🤣

( QUESTION) Does anyone here have any direct contact with the developer?

Nope. To everything. Just let dev work out the problems instead of wasting precious time on answering "questions" like:

"The new AI sucks roll it back right now!!!!!!!11111!!!!"

"Why are you SO MEAN just give us the old model pweeeease?"

"Why does it take so long, ChatGPT makes updates in seconds!"

"Why do you ignore me when I say just pay 20 people out of your own pocket to get it done RIGHT NOW!"

and so on. I can totally understand why dev doesn't want to deal with this shit.

For me, too. but I'm more into t2t. I've basically started from zero with no knowledge whatsoever, but I've already learned so much about ai behaviour and surprisingly about myself. I hope some day I have the energy to try to understand coding a little bit, but atm, that's still final boss level for me 😅

AI text bug "〖"

Reply in thread

Sadly now the outputs go haywire. Chinese, russian, hebrew words seeping in, words/sentences get continued with nonsense. Only 3 of 7 rerolls were bug free when I tried. Edit: or this:

ofộiAnon's fingersKENN smoothing the petals with HB4 unmistakable tenderness.

The most hilarious thing for me is that OP called dev a non-professional and a noob. I mean, I don't know how to do coding, but I have enough common sense to be able to imagine the enormous level of skill and determination building a site like this needs.

And the audacity to demand spamming dev... reminds me of those happy old times where villagers grabbed forks and torches to go after that one woman who knew about healing herbs and helped other women give birth without dying, just because that one cow died of age.

My experience with the New text model (feedback)

Many of these "quirks" are due to the change of model. The new one is more intuitive, and the explicit descriptions we needed for the old model in char description etc. are now "too much". Also, the default writing instructions (Roleplay 1, Roleplay 2) aren't adjusted to the new model yet and too over the top as well. If you read the suggested custom instructions closely (1&2 are based on those, too) while having those quirks in mind, you'll see where it comes from (I can't quote it exactly, but there is one about shortened speech in tense situations or such, for example. EDIT: found it, it's the Varied Expression and Cadence one)

All in all, I highly recommend to look into reddit perchance, there are ppl trying to work out solutions for this ai behaviour.

Because it didn't fail yet, it's still a work in progress. And there were a LOT of people who complained about the old model. I suggest you take a look at the perchance commutinty on reddit, there are a lot more people than here, but even on lemmy you can see it when you take a closer look, for example: https://lemmy.world/post/36459439 atm, 3 up votes, 7 down votes. People do like the new model when it doesn't have hiccups due to finetuning the settings.

About letting people switch, I already mentioned it in a much older post: dev would have to set up the infrastructure first, which would probably take a lot of time. Maybe dev rather use this extra time to work on the new model. After all, it's already almost 2 months and you can see how people get impatient bc they don't understand how much workload this is for a single person.

As for the ads, dev deliberately chose to make them as minimal as possible to make it as user-friendly as possible. If ads get more invasive, people start to use adblock, too. IMO, perchance is a gift by dev to us, and maybe dev even takes pride in giving it completely free. That's the only explanation I can imagine why dev doesn't take donations, bc many people mentioned they'd love to. But even with such a big heart, dev faces limits in resources as time and money (and probably energy), that's why we don't get the old model.

Report: Underage User in 18+ General Chat

Reply in thread

"some people are safe places for others. some aren't" that's the point, isn't it? It's not about ratting someone out, it's to protect minors. So you comparing it to "calling the cops/ICE" doesn't fit. Fact is, there are ppl in this world that aren't nice at all. And I'm very sorry, but a minor that openly admits being under 18 in an 18+ channel is obviously not smart enough/too naive to deal with such things and needs that kind of protection.

Why the perchance ai chat... Is behaving like this?!

Reply in thread

I'm not complaining bc I know such things take times, esp since dev is working on it alone and for free. My chars aren't violent anymore since I tweaked char description, reminder and my custom writing instructions.

Prev model sucked, shitty memory and annoying repetetive phrases. I'm happy we get a new one where rp with world lore will be actually possible.

But once dev starts to answer questions, it WILL lead to those questions, too. People are like that, there are enough examples for it here.

And please, don't tell me you really think that after everything dev already does for us, providing text gen and img gen completely for free and without any censoring, finetuning the model for almost two months now beside having a regular job and a real life, paying everything what's not covered by these tiny ads at the bottom out of their own pocket, dev owes you explanations?

Let's be honest, what do you expect would be written in that messages? In the end, it probably would be "tweaked variable a, but now variable g, o and x are acting up. variable d, k and u are still strange, try to fix it when I finally manage to make p acting accordingly without compromizing k, i and s." Those people who'd understand what dev is writing about, know already it takes time and patience until this enormous project is done.

So yes, if you accuse dev to think users are "unworthy" after all the hard work and money dev puts into this project to give it to you for free, you are very free to move on and try to find something else. Or even better, try to make a perchance of your own and see what it takes and what happens if you as dev have to deal with updates and user questions. All alone.
