I agree with a prior poster that very few of them there know anything about lemmy. I was recently banned there and stumbled upon lemmy. As a former mod there I know that I could get many to migrate but have lost the ability to post there. Anyone have any ideas how to get a reddit account unbanned other than the usual appeal process.

Reddit was a place to start the morning and get some news especially on the subs that I moderated. I spent way too much time with it. I am looking forward to friendly engagement of sane people. Reddit had way too much of us vs. them. And their Admins readily bannned all who did not agree with their political and cultural opinions. I enjoy engaging with those who have opinions different than mine, I just do not want them shoved down my throat as I would not force my opinions on others.

I now almost exclusively read books online. Check out Hoopla or ICloud. There are various ways to search fiction/nonfiction new/old releases read or audiobooks. I get free access via my local library.

No it is not acceptable. I only wish that there were at least 5 viable parties in each election which each having a chance to actually win. There are only 2 parties because our system (fucked up) is driven all by money. No money. No exposure to the public. Can't win an election.

We keep being told that broadcast and cable tv is dead and social media is now the top source to reach an audience. Ironic that Fox fired Tucker fucking themselves and now Tucker has a huge via Twitter audience compared to what he had on Fox. If they wanted to silence him they had just the opposite effect.

We can agree that neither of us mean "every" when having this discussion. Conservatives and liberals can and always have been able to have civil logical discussions. Leftists are different. The same people have been predicting we are all going to die from an Ice Age or Global Warming for decades. And they seem to come up with a new angle of bullshit for every generation. In your situation, in 10 years absolutely nothing will change in global temperatures, but these same people will have a news bullshit story to tell you. Those who have been around a while have seen it all before. And hopefully you have a long life and will experience the cycle of bullshit. And hopefully you will finally recognize the scam for what it is
