Are image uploads disabled now on this instance?
Nope its an issue with lemmy itself, we're trying to figure it out, for now please use third party hosts like catbox, imgbb etc. Sorry for the inconvenience :(

Is there something like the pirate bay but for direct downloads?

Well yes and no, it truly depends on your location and ISP.

Defederation Policy
Reply in thread
We want to use defederation as a last resort and hopefully when users are able to block instances themselves we'll be able to use it even less frequently. I dislike defederation personally as well, and like Nbats stated here, if the community's opinion of those two instances change and the instances themselves make their communities safer we'll refed.

💀 Source for them giving private emails to governments ?? Your emails are E2EE they don't have the ability to decrypt them when you hold the keys. The most they did AFAIK is IP log a user because they had to comply with swiss law. Their VPN has no logs & has been audited

Where can I watch the new Spiderverse movie?
As others have said you are likely to find it on sites listed on our wiki, do note that these will most likely be CAM copies since the digital release will only happen next tuesday(18th).
edit: Seems the rumors of July 18th release was wrong :/ and it will only release early august source: https://www.digitalspy.com/movies/a44035174/across-the-spiderverse-streaming-watch-online/

I'm curious as well, although my expectations aren't that high people dislike change like this.

I'm really hoping that lemmy implements blocklists like mastodon so users can block instances themselves soon.

Electronic Frontier Foundation shouted out Lemmy, Kbin, and Mastodon in their Reddit coverage today: What Reddit Got Wrong

I don't think they were "suppressing" lemmy purposely, it's just that the whole fediverse mainly consists of "tech savvy" or geeky people and can be a bit much to wrap ones mind around at first as a non-tech person.

Yes, if an instance has a history of being problematic and its users causing issues on other instances we will defed. We're trying to keep defederation minimal & letting our users curate the content they see.
