So, I've been reading "Late Victorian Holocausts: El Nino Famines and the Making of the Third World" by Mike Davis. And as he recounts famine after famine, each of which claimed millions of lives, I

They've done that in so many places.
Sure, not each colony every single time, but that just makes it clear they always had a choice and chose to let people starve.
If you own 1/3 of the world, you really can't convince me you don't have the resources, anyway.
