This is great and all, gives more device options for GOS. However, being only flagship, this will put GOS out of reach for alot of people due to the cost of flagship phones and the current economy. Especially if Google starts making future Pixels unable to have GOS flashed onto them.

Agreed 100%. Jellyfin is great for watchable media but it just doesnt work well with music libraries and its metadata. Navidrome is the way. Feishin is probably the best and most preferred client for Navidrome on desktop. And theres tons of clients for mobile whether youre on Android or iOS.

Lol I remember when I had trouble setting up slskd in docker, when I was learning. I couldnt figure out how to properly setup my shared files directory and was getting auto banned by people and couldnt figure out why. Then I finally figured it out and got it working. It is a bit dumb to auto ban for that but as you said, it is what it is.

Maybe try running through tailscale. With tailscale you dont need to open ports. I run soulseek and my entire server behind tailscale and download and upload just fine in soulseek.

Its so easy with their web installer, takes like 5 minutes. If you go to their website they have a list of bank apps that work. Mine does and no issues. Ive been using Graphene for a couple years and can never go back.

Came to Linux about a year ago and couldn't really be happier. Will never use Windows again. Tailscale is the answer to easily and remotely access jellyfin and your server. Its easy to setup and very secure.

I can't recall the last time I saw ads. Years probably. Between using uBlock, more secure browsers, invidious or clients that use invidious for YT, as much open-source stuff as possible, self-hosting through Tailscale and vpn including SearXNG, etc. I want to setup a pihole but haven't had the need to yet as my setups have served me well.

Jellyfin doesnt handle music quite as well as Navidrome does. Jellyfin is awesome for watchable media but it lacks a little on music. Navidrome handles artist metadata better. For clients, 100% Feishin on desktop, its just about perfect. On mobile, Castafiore or Resonus I think are two of the best. Finamp is great for a Jellyfin client on mobile but still it depends on the Jellyfin server which again doesnt handle metadata as well.
