Joe Rogan Praises ‘No-Nonsense’ Tucker Carlson, Predicts ‘He Could Win’ The Presidency in 2028
Ugh. Joe Rogan is what dumb people think a smart person sounds like.

I'm trying! I created a community for fans of professional/competitive cycling a month ago. Thirty subscribers so far, but only one single comment in the time, and it was pointing out an error I made (no complaint, it was a fair point). I'll keep at it for a while, but it's hard (and demotivating) trying to have a one sided conversation.

Liberty admits that Las Vegas F1 race costs are rising
Reply in thread
While I hope it works out for Liberty and F1, I can't help but think that the prices for fans at Las Vegas and Miami will really turn off casual fans. For what it costs to see one of those, the serious fans are already going to the traditional European races.

FIA approves Andretti entry as 11th F1 team from 2025-26
I think they'd be a quality addition to the grid. I appreciate the concern about the dilution of the prize pool, but wasn't that supposed to have been addressed by what was supposed to be a huge buy-in cost for new teams under the most recent concorde agreement? https://www.motorsportmagazine.com/articles/single-seaters/f1/what-is-in-the-new-f1-2021-concorde-agreement/

Ben Sulayem wants works teams from USA and China in F1
That will definitely make China a hub of F1 fandom, just like having all these races in the Middle East has done. /s

I wonder if the drivers have ever been polled on their favorite tracks?
Funny how Spa seems to top everyone's list (including my own).

Running with Plantar Fasciitis & footwear
Two things worked for me (and it took AGES to be able to run again without pain). First, like everyone else said, big arch support in all my shoes, not just my runners. Also neutral running shoes with added arch support work better for me than the ones with a lot of control. YMMV
Second, seriously working on my calves and achilles. Stretching didn't do anything at all for me, but using an R8 roller and really pressing it down on the muscle and tendon to stretch and loosen them made a real difference.
One last thought - are you maybe over-striding? Long strides tend to jackhammer your heel. Shorter strides help use your knees to cushion the impact.

For sure, and I definitely lurk more than I post. In my case, I was hoping there would be a little more engagement, because it only take a few active people in a community for it to become self-sustaining. I'll keep at it!

I'd love to see a Fomula E race in person - it looks like they get pretty intense.

I think this nails the issue perfectly. It's a tough call on the right solution.

How many people actually dropped Reddit for Lemmy?
I still look at Reddit daily. There's insufficient niche content here for it to be a reddit replacement unless you're only into memes, linux, or radical left politics. I'll be happy to make the switch complete when there are communities active enough to replace the ones on reddit.

I hate to say it, but you're absolutely right. I love Ricciardo as a personality, but he's lost his mojo as a driver.
