@[email protected] I don't think Apple can even comply with this sort of request. They have never wavered on this and in fact have continued to make it even progressively more difficult with every major and even minor releases. One of my iCloud accounts (I created one for my former employer) is entirely self-managed via u2f/fido2 tokens, it doesn't use Apple's MFA at all, and i disable imessage in the cloud so they're not decrypted there. now what, guvner?

nothing stops them from doing police work does it?

@[email protected] data governance and sovereignty requirements for businesses or orgs isn't unusual, in higher ed for example you need to store data in the US; china probably has a ton of requirements like that. google has been doing it almost as long as yahoo i think.

@INeedMana if they offer an OpenAI-ish compatible API (e.g. https://blahblah/v1) you can add it as an OpenAI service with a new endpoint and your own API creds inside AI Providers but IDK about the various other extensions.

the mesh-AI one uses fabric though and you can configure fabric to use mistral's API just fine i reckon?

@INeedMana I use a lot of metaphors from mycology when writing, so I had a similar first impression! Honestly I really like looking at and exploring in a graph like this. I wish it was easier to do that when you have many objects in the field without bogging down the software so much.

I clip and collect and annotate so much that it's basically a job that is gradually losing it's value as my passive collection ramps up.

@Unforeseen this is what makes something like Sublime appealing, they're like little corpus bubbles of things about an idea but iNtHeCLoUd and I get attached to things and want them available forever which is the real problem 😂

@INeedMana obsidian definitely can do that well there are several galleries for Clippings and if you do a vault for each campaign it would be very slick. can treat an Obsidian vault as a context store for other uses.

@[email protected] do you believe that china can gain unauthorized access to iCloud account data without cooperation or the user providing their credentials? i thought they could use fido2 keys in china?
