Pay with Palm

Its hard to believe anyone would use the thing. It'll be more problematic if/when its used for regulatory purposes. Sort of at the desensitization still. Today.

I had to take a State exam for licensure a few years back. I was told that I had to take a palm/vein scan to prove my identity. I informed her Ive never had one so it could not prove my identity-- but hey, Im the crazy one. Its on a server somewhere now tho... Modernity is pretty stupid, tbh.

How has everyone trained their ears to transcribe songs?

Im pretty good for jamming along, but I do actually struggle to sit down and figure out exactly what someone else is doing. If I play karaoke to a song Ive never heard before its a success if Im in groove and key within a few iterations. Definitely a skill.

I noticed Richard Bona usually sings what he's playing, just reflexively. This is something Im (telling myself Im) trying to do to improve this. Should also make lines more 'musical.'

What is your relationship with water in your dreams?

I have had many dreams with water. Almost every time it is an idyllic sort of thing, one of beauty and pleasure. However, if I look under the water-- Its almost always a death sentence. Crocks, sharks, dragons, snakes, and so on. I could go down, I have gone down, but its always dark and toothy. It would appear I am discouraged from seeking the depths.

DI Out or Mic up the cab?

Little late to the party, but Ive done DI the last bunch of shows Ive played. It simplifies things. If I were playing Carnegie Id bring an amp, but to a bar? Save some stage space, one less thing to kick over mid-set. Ive had sound guys mic me off-axis, lol. Im my experience, sound guys like giving you the XLR. Stage presence hasn't been that bad either, maybe Ive just been lucky, but they've been able to push bass into my monitor.

Milam

The language is quite apt, too-- falling, crashing, careening-- into a different place. I generally find my dream-self dazed and in a state of passivity, where the dream acts upon me more than I act upon it.

However there is also 'drift' asleep, which is probably the most gingerly way to describe being thrust into these impossible situations and places.

Good eye! Took out the active pre-amp, and stuffed in EMG 40DC's, an EMG AfterBurner, and 18v connection. She's hot! Thinking about wiring in a killswitch for more gimmicky antics.
