It's so expensive to upgrade...
Huh? Retro GPUs are like the 8800, right? The 1080ti is still pretty new, right?!

Bill to to revoke Trump's "emergency order" to bypass congress in proclaiming tariffs failed because two senators were absent.
Reply in thread
The national emergency law lays out a fast-track process for Congress to consider a resolution ending a presidential emergency, requiring committee consideration within 15 calendar days after one is introduced and a floor vote within three days after that. But the language House Republicans inserted in their measure on Tuesday declared that, “Each day for the remainder of the 119th Congress shall not constitute a calendar day”
lmao, they actually abolished time to ignore their responsibilities. Is it possible to learn this power?

Hegseth will skip a meeting on organizing military aid to Ukraine in a first for the US
He's too busy brainstorming new names for the USNS Harriet Tubman because her actions and beliefs that "slavery is bad, actually" apparently don't align with the current administration's ideology. But why am I'm repeating things y'all already know? Everyone's on his Signal chat, of course.

Steam data reveals PC gamers shifting from Windows to Linux
At this point it is just easier to play 90% of my Steam library on Linux. Maybe it's different for NVIDIA cards, but with AMD Microsoft is constantly trying to automatically installing old drivers and breaking things. No amount of registry edits seems to stop it. Hell, I had to open the command line just to install Windows with a local account only. Meanwhile, Linux is just click and play now.

Impossible, I refuse to believe that the majority of Americans are capable of recognizing reality.

Id like to turn off notifications from the Galaxy Store, but I can't. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE. Filthy basterds.
Just had the same thing happen. You can't turn off all notifications, but you can disable most types except "important" ones in the app itself. I'm hoping it won't happen again but knowing Samsung they consider their ads very important...

The Fitbit app redesign looks like equal parts helpful and information overload
I saw the headline and thought, "Information overload? I love data, you can't give me enough data!" But no, it looks like a repeat of the Garmin Connect+ disaster, because they apparently didn't learn that people don't need AI to tell them stuff like "You slept for 9 hours last night. You usually sleep for 8 hours. That means you slept for 1 hour more than usual. Sleep is good for you."
