Lightning strike in Slo-Mo captured by Dustin Farrell
Reply in thread
It’s amazing to see it slowed down like that. Lightning happens so quickly that you don’t really realize how much it travels!

WeatherGifs is one of my favorite subreddits and since I’m slowly but surely migrating over to Lemmy, I had to create this one here to keep that weather fascination alive. I hope others are inspired to share their cool weather GIFs here, too.

It does cut off too soon, in my opinion. It’s part of a 3+ min video that was put together by Dustin Farrell in 2019. Pretty awesome if lightning is your thing.

Reddit migration?
I migrated as well. My username was BlueCheezHippie over there and when I posted about migrating to a new platform during the strikes, I got raked over the coals for even suggesting it or pointing out how valuable 3rd party apps were.
Glad to be over here now and I hope we can get this somewhat as active, at least during the regular season.

Destructive tornado
Bill: It's the Fujita scale. It measures a tornado's intensity by how much it eats.
Melissa: Eats?
Bill: Destroys.
