🔥 Fire, food, and a little outdoor skill-building!

My son and I did a practice run for an upcoming Cub adventure and spent the day at the park working on fire lighting and outdoor cooking. We started at home, getting comfortable with matches—he was a little nervous at first, but after a few tries (and some trial and error), he got the hang of it and lit a candle with confidence.

Once that was sorted, we packed up and headed to the park. A quick stop at a thrift store turned up a turkey pan and a dish rack—makeshift fire pan and grill ✅. With some dryer lint and newspaper, he got the fire going like a pro! 🔥 Lunch was grilled cheese and soup over the flames, followed by some time hanging out by the fire and exploring the play structure.

This was a great test run before doing it with the Cubs. Everything worked well, and I think they’re going to love trying it for themselves. Best part? Seeing that big grin when the fire caught and the meal was cooking! 😊

What’s your go-to meal when cooking over a fire? 🍽🔥 Let me know—I’m always looking for new ideas!

Fall Adventures: Share Your Best Stories to Inspire Our Patrol! 🍁

Hey fellow Adventurers!

With fall just around the corner and our weekly meetings about to start, I'm looking to spark some inspiration in my patrol. We're gearing up for another season of Scouting, and I’d love to hear your best fall adventure stories.

What were some of the most memorable hikes, campouts, or projects you've been part of? How did your group come up with the idea, and what made the experience unforgettable?

I’m hoping your stories will help our patrol come up with some awesome plans for this season. Can’t wait to hear what you’ve done and get some ideas flowing!

Thanks in advance, and happy Scouting!
