How to Usenet?

I use Eweka, I have 5 trackers including nzbgeek and drunken slug, set up with SabNZB, and Sonarr for shows. I manually do movies by searching with NZBHydra. Shit is great man. I find everything old and new. I think you just need to mess with your setup. Usenet is 10000x better then trying to torrent everything. Torrent is great for like... Mass.downloading some older stuff maybe, but Usenet has everything you need. Yarrrr

What's with all the NordVPN hate?

Reply in thread

Isn't the Firefox VPN just a rebrand of Mullvad or something? Like they just use their servers and put in their logo?

I have been using PIA for the last few years and I am personally pretty happy. I had some issues with Nord connect and speed a few years back. PIA on wireguard has worked great for me. I have a gigabit connection and although I can't hit that with pia, my Unraid SabNZB hits over 70MB/s easy which is great

Why is Linux so frustrating for some people?

I stopped trying to learn linux. Windows isnt perfect but in general it just works. Want a program? download and install the exe. drivers are PnP.

I do tech support for a living. At the end of the day i just want my stuff to work. I dont want to do more work. Same reason i replaced my Ubiquiti APs with Eeros and stick with a simple hardwire topography where possible.

What I think kbin needs to do to survive, and why I think it has a better chance than any other Reddit alternative I've seen yet.

Eventually, we need to get to the place where we’re creating unique meme formats

I agree with what you're saying in general, but I really hope that all of the interesting discussion here doesn't eventually get buried by memes like back on Reddit. Memes can be fun and all, but sorting a lot of otherwise really great niche-subs by top of all time back there was often a case of finding nothing of value at all because there were 50 pages of fucking memes at the top of the list. Personal preference, of coarse

It sounds alot like your telling people how they should talk and act, thats not how the internet or social media works. One of my favorite boards right now in the fediverse, especially after a long day is 196. I would rather see 100 posts from 196 then another post about leaving reddit. And i can do that by filtering and subbing. thats how this all works,

The only way to win is to not play

As IT, I like when i get emails from Co-workers who forward me their spam emails that made it thrugh not just Microsofts detection, but Proofpoints as well and came out "Clean" but is obviously a phishing email. I wish some people would ignore their emails more often....
