Octobre commence, saison propice pour regarder des films qui font peur !

Chaque année au mois d'octobre, je me fais un petit marathon thématique pour Halloween. Films de monstres, de sorcières, de possessions démoniaques, de zombies... films sérieux ou nanars, drôles ou effrayants...

Et vous, vous avez prévu de bons films à regarder pour Halloween ? Ou bien vous avez des recommandations de bons films, classiques ou moins connus ?

Après avoir vu passer un classement venant de Reddit où Battlefield Earth venait sans trop de surprise en tête, j'ai trouvé cette liste plutôt décevante.

Et vous, quels sont vos pires films de SF ?

Here are my favorite boards.

From left to right:

• Decathlon drop-through board. My first longboard. Not bad for the price, but the stock wheels are a bit small (59 mm), so I mounted bigger ones. Comfortable for LDP, but I'd like to replace this board with a double drop like a Pantheon Pranayama. Or maybe something better suited for pumping.

• Landyacht Dinghy Blunt with 72 mm Hawgs Plow King wheels. An excellent mini cruiser. Small enough to go shopping with.

• Loaded Chinchiller. Very versatile. My go-to board these days.

• Loaded Basalt Tesseract, with 76 mm Hawgs Zombies. Usually the board I chose for LDP.

Old (2021) réalisé par M. Night Shyamalan, avec Gael Garcia Bernal (le Coco de Disney, La Science des rêves), Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread), Rufus Sewell (Dark City), et des plus jeunes comme Alex Wolff, Thomasin McKenzie et Eliza Scanlen. L'histoire d'un groupe de gens se retrouvant piégés sur une plage où le temps s'écoule beaucoup plus vite que la normale.

Shyamalan introduit rapidement les personnages, pensionnaires d'un hôtel de vacances de luxe, puis les met en situation. Conduits sur une petite plage déserte que leur a conseillée le directeur de l'hôtel, ils découvrent rapidement que quelque chose ne va pas du tout : enfants qui grandissent presque à vue d'œil, blessures qui guérissent presque instantanément...

Tout ça dans un climat de tension et de malaise. L'acting est correct, la réalisation aussi, mais à mon sens l'intérêt du film repose surtout le scénario et les rebondissements. On m'avait parlé de ce film cmome de l'équivalent d'un épisode de Twilight Zone, et c'est vrai que c'est un peu l'impression que j'ai eue. Comme tout bon film de Shyamalan qui se respecte, on a droit au twist final que je ne vais bien sûr pas dévoiler, et j'avoue que pour une fois cette fin n'était pas si mauvaise.

First time wheelbite!

I had been lucky enough to avoid wheelbite so far, even though I use rather big wheels on my boards, but my luck ended today. No big deal, I just rolled on the floor and got up unharmed with just a tiny scratch on one finger.

As for the context, I was riding my Loaded Tesseract, mounted with 76 mm Hawgs Zombies, and I was trying to gain speed by pumping rather hard. So I was leaning hard left and right. Hence the wheelbite.

Has it already happened to you? How did you deal with it?

It's been 3 weeks since I received my Loaded Chinchiller. I've used it mostly for moving around in the city and suburbs. I also tried a little bit of dancing and freestyle, and a bit of sliding too.

The board seems very versatile. The size of 34" is perfect for me, stable enough and easy to carry. The flex and the Paris V3 (with a 21" wheelbase) make it a very good carving machine.

The stock wheels (Orangatang 65 mm 80a Love Handles) are maybe a bit small for my liking, so I'm going to mount a set 72 mm Hawgs Plow Kings and see how it feels.

This is a test, to see if "article" posts have a better federation with Calckey than "link" posts.

I wanted to share some of my kbin articles by boosting them from my Calckey account, but I can't see them from Calckey. If I search for the kbin post from Calckey, either by using the "copy URL" or the "copy URL for the fediverse" link, nothing is found.

On the other hand, if I search for the post from a Mastodon account, it works, I can see the kbin post and boost it.

Any idea if the problem is on the kbin side or on the Calckey side?

Si vous observez bien le ciel, vous verrez qu'il n'est pas tout à fait comme d'habitude. Et pour cause, les fumées des incendies au Canada se sont propagées et sont désormais au dessus de la France. Mais il n'y a pas de danger pour notre santé, selon notamment Météo France.

Any thoughts about the Loaded Chinchiller?
It's probably the next board I'll buy. It looks pretty versatile and exactly the size I was looking for (34" long, 8.5" wide).
Cruising, carving, freeriding, tricks, maybe a bit of dancing... seems like this board can do it all!
