Trump rally warns that God will punish those who don't worship Dictator Trump

A lot of these super crazy religious people are Calvinists. There are different levels of Calvinism, but as you go higher it means that there is no free will. All humans are "on rails" essentially, just completing the design of God. Even to the point that all humans who exist have been pre-sorted into going to heaven or hell before they are even born. Individual actions don't matter, and if you're going to hell there's nothing you can do to change it. It's the will of God.

[@NBA] NBA IN-SEASON TOURNAMENT EXPLAINED 🎥

The reason midseason tournaments of any kind won't take hold is due to cultural differences.

In Europe & the UK these divisional leagues and tourneys make sense because they evoke the literal thousands of years of bitter struggle and conquest different groups had over each other. London by itself is made of up an amalgamation of different groups who were all trying to conquer each other or fend off being conquered.

So there's an ingrained rivalry between states and cities from way back.

In the United States the culture is of one primary colonizing group (Europe/The White Man), and then one group overthrowing the UK to become the U.S.

It's a culture of "Win the whole thing, and all at once." Which is why we're very championship focused.

The first nine episodes of Discovery are a model for what streaming era Star Trek should have looked like

I like all of Discovery, and by "like" I mean I really don't mind it.

The only thing that I dislike about it (and disagree with you on) is that the characters other than Michael, Saru, and Book in the subsequent seasons feel fleshed out.

The bridge crew falls flat to me, and I really can never remember any of their names.

I think star trek is at its best when it has a smaller cast to focus on. TOS and ENT both felt great with their smaller core.

Even TNG feels bloated to me with 7 or so main cast members.
